Hi, I’m Yael!
My path to theater was anything but conventional. I never set out to direct or design, but when the opportunity to lead a production of The Addams Family with no prior experience, I jumped in headfirst. It was an ambitious challenge, but it revealed what I was capable of—bringing stories to life through creativity, problem-solving, and determination.
That first production ignited a passion I hadn’t anticipated. Theater became more than just a creative outlet; it became a space to take risks, trust my instincts, and push my own limits. With each show, I expanded my artistic range, designing and building sets, creating costumes, and crafting visually compelling stage worlds. I thrive on the challenge of transforming ideas into immersive environments and collaborating to make each production stronger than the last.
Since that first show, I’ve taken over the theater program at the school I work in, using storytelling and design to inspire my students. Every production is an opportunity to experiment, refine my vision, and push the boundaries of what’s possible on stage.
I know that I am still growing as a scenic designer and have so much to learn. I look forward to refining my craft and learning from those who can help shape me into the artist I aspire to be.
